Justin, 490 Testimony

What has 490 done for me? 490 has given me confidence. It's given me a fellowship. It's taught me discipline. It's taught me to seek the Lord. Most importantly, it's helped me find my purpose.

Before I went on the mission trip to Omaha, I still wasn't sure what I was supposed to do or where all of this was taking me. I've been asking God to please show me what I was supposed to do with my life. I wasn't in Omaha for 24 hours before I figured it out: And it was to serve the Lord and serve people. It was to serve in any way I could. I came home from that trip and knew what I was supposed to do. I surrendered myself to the Lord again. Once again, the Lord gave me peace and joy and made me new again. That was the first time in my life I felt like I had a purpose. No more sadness or wondering what I was supposed to do, no more searching, no more sleepless nights wondering about my life. No more unnecessary anger or worry. God gave me the tools with Eudora Baptist Church and 490 to give me purpose. That's what God has done for me, and I'm excited about what he's going to keep doing with the church and 490. Never in my life would I have thought I would standing here talking to you all about God and what God has done for me. God has used the church and 490 to help show me what I've been missing in my life, and he's pulled me out of the darkness. For the first time in my life, I'm not afraid anymore. I don't feel like I', stuck in a rut or a dog chasing it's tail in circles. It is the most wonderful feeling in the world to be filled with joy and happiness. I never want to go back to that life without God or trying to do it by myself. Never in a million years would I think going to Omaha, Nebraska, to feed some people and help paint a church would have such an impact on my life. It's just amazing, something so simple has completely made me want to change my life and what I'm doing in it. I'm serving more, I just started to go to celebrate recovery, and I'm talking to people about God all the time.

I thought I was moving to Eudora because I got a good deal on a house. God gave me a house, a church, and a program called 490.
